The Milton Model, developed by Milton H. Erickson and later modelled within Neuro-Linguistic Programming, is a powerful framework for using artfully vague language to influence thought, emotion, and behaviour. Rather than being direct and specific, it uses ambiguity, metaphor, and permissive suggestions to engage the unconscious mind and encourage personal meaning-making.

Understanding its practical application offers significant benefits. In coaching, it helps practitioners facilitate deeper reflection without imposing assumptions. In leadership and communication, it enables subtle influence, rapport building, and more persuasive messaging. The model is particularly effective in managing resistance, as it allows individuals to arrive at their own conclusions rather than feeling directed.

By developing skill in the Milton Model, professionals enhance their ability to communicate with flexibility, sensitivity, and impact—supporting more meaningful conversations, behavioural change, and improved interpersonal outcomes across both personal and professional contexts.

This is a one day live, interactive online workshop, a CPD Certificate will be issued to all attendees plus full handout and access to the video recording.
